When “Just Push Through It” Isn’t the Answer.

Lack of safety

Your horse has become dangerous or highly reactive around hoof care.

Trauma and health

Your horse’s emotional or physical condition makes standard care impossible.

Unique conundrum

Standard methods don’t seem to work (for long) for you and your horse.

It’s definitely not your horse’s fault either, but you are problably not the problem either. Others tell you to be firmer; R+ trainers tell you to be patient. But in the middle of that advice, you are still standing there with a horse that can’t be trimmed, and the pressure is mounting.

Here is what I want you to know: You are not failing your horse.

When you are dealing with deep-seated fear or physical complexity and some situations are simply too specific, too nuanced, or too emotionally charged to be solved in a few weeks.

Some puzzles are too complex to solve alone.

My 1-on-1 Mentorship is designed to take the weight off your shoulders. We stop looking at “what usually works” and start looking at what works for YOUR horse.
I step into your world. We analyze the environment, the history, the pain signals, and the micro-expressions. I become your second brain, helping you navigate the decisions that feel too heavy to make on your own.

This is not just “training tips.” This is not “fixing your horse.” This is a rehabilitation of the relationship.

What makes this different?

We won’t be training in a linear way. We will be tackling all the Hoof Care aspects, together. Both the behavioural aspect as well as ethical and emotional side of training.

Cooperative hoof care foundation
Cooperative hoof care desensitisation counterconditioning
Cooperative hoof care medical care husbandry
Cooperative hoof care training concepts
Cooperative hoof care exercise

The Cooperative Care Mentorship focuses on every possible aspect of hoof care using Positive Reinforcement. The relevance of each aspect is of course different for every single horse. Some horses are trimmed by their owner and don’t need to adjust to a stranger. Other horses can be trimmed close to the herd, so separation anxiety isn’t causing issues. But this doesn’t go for everyone.

That is why you and me will work together to determine which aspects, behaviors, exercises, and criteria are essential for your process. This ensures you receive a customized training plan for both the short and long term.

First we draw up a plan

Together you’ll look at your personal trimming struggles and goals to see what would be best to focus on first – and how exactly. Do you need a better foundation, or new exercises?

Online 1-on‑1 coaching

I’ll be with you the whole way. Personalized assignments, training plans, and feedback on your assignments every week.

Doing the same d*mn thing…

We won’t do the same things and expect different results. I check in weekly so I can cheer you on or steer you in a better direction.

Everything available all the time

I have a lot of training material available for you. There’s an exercise or template for everything!

Continuous support

I’ll be in your pocket so you can share all your questions and thoughts with me between check-ins, meetings, or appointments so you don’t have to wait.

BONUS: Learning from others

Every other week, you can join my other clients and have your own training analyzed, send in questions, or observe others’ sessions. Inspiration, confidence boosts, and community are vital to your progress.

It had reached a point where it became increasingly unsafe for the farrier to do his job.

Under Janneke’s guidance, we practiced all the separate components of trimming, starting from a place of calmness and relaxation. Taking small steps, we made continuous progress. Janneke gave me the confidence that things would improve, supported me through every step of the process, and eventually integrated the farrier into her training method as well.

Now, Rezz allows her feet to be trimmed while loose and free to walk away at any moment, without showing any sign of stress.

How we work together

Weekly Assignment or Feedback
You’ll either get a smaller assignment every week + feedback on the previous assignment, or you’ll get a bigger assignment every other week and the feedback in the week after. Whatever fits your schedule best.

Live Lessons and Video Feedback
If you have proper Wi-Fi we can do Live Online Training together. You can also submit training videos. I analyze them – pausing, rewinding and showing you exactly where the magic (or the confusion) happens. We can either meet up on Zoom or I’ll record my feedback for you to watch when you have time.

Training plans
You don’t have to worry about forgetting everything from the last session as soon as you want to start training. You also don’t have to think about what exercises to train, how often, why, and how to build criteria. I’ll make your training plans so you know EXACTLY what to do to make progress.

BONUS: Clickability Group Calls
Every other week all my clients have the opportunity to send in videos and questions so we can analyze and discuss together. It’s always nice to see everyone share and get to know each other.

Your investment
The investment is €1250 for the entire journey.
That gives you direct access to me, weekly guidance, personal feedback, and a clear training plan. Everything you need to finally build real momentum, get real and lasting change, and never feel like you’re on your own again.

Who will you be learning from?

Deejay Janneke

I’m Janneke. I specialize in working with the horses (and owners) who need more than standard advice.

My work is built on a non-negotiable belief: The horse is always right. They have the right to say no, to remove themselves from a situation, and to take the time they need to heal emotionally and physically.

I have spent 25 years evolving from a traditional equine manager to a specialist in cooperative care. I have learned from the best in the field to ensure that my methods aren’t just “kind,” but scientifically sound and effective for complex cases.

But more importantly, I am a realist. I know that R+ isn’t magic; it’s a conversation. I am here to support you when circumstances are challenging, offering a steady hand and a clear plan.

I also believe that training should not be just about analyzing and hard work. It should be fun and connected, so I make sure that I bring a healthy dose of humour and groundedness to our sessions.

I will hold the space for you to figure this out, without judgment, until you and your horse feel safe again.

Is the mentorship for you?

Join us if:

  • You value understanding the process more than just getting a quick result.
  • You have plenty of R+ experience, but feel stuck on the specifics of hoof care.
  • You take your homework seriously without being way too hard on yourself.

This is not for you if:

  • You want a “done-for-you” service where someone else fixes the horse.
  • You are looking for traditional pressure/release methods.
  • You aren’t willing to film short clips of your training sessions.

From Anxiety to Competence

This is what happens when we work this closely:

All guesswork vanishes
You always know exactly what your next move is.

The fear subsides
Because we work below threshold, the “explosive” moments disappear. You and your horse start to feel safe again.

The bond deepens
You move from being the “enforcer” of care to being the “partner” in care.

The End Result you’ll be saying “Yes!” to
You, confident and capable. Your horse, willing and relaxed. A hoof care session that looks boring.. in the most beautiful way possible. ❤︎
